Wednesday evening, two former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. These two players are the first to see playing time post-All-Star Break. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 10.

Best of the Day: Jalen Brunson

The Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs are among the league leaders in bench points this season. The Spurs had the edge in the game but Brunson’s bench contributions helped propelled the Mavs to victory.

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 20 minutes, 8 points, 3/4 FG, 1/2 3PT, 1/2 FT, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, 2 turnovers, and +2 in a 115-104 win over the Spurs.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Keita Bates-Diop (University/Spurs)- 1 minute and -3 in a 115-104 loss to the Mavericks. He entered at the 35.7 second mark when the Spurs were down 104-112.
