Thursday, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in various NBA games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 31.
Best of the Day: Talen Horton-Tucker
Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon) was set to make a big leap this season but like the Los Angeles Lakers as team, the season has been mostly a dissappointment. THT has been dealt every single bad card this season leaving many questioning his future in this league or even on the Lakers. It did not look like he would finish out the season in LA but here he is, finishing it up and hoping for the best. Whether he gets traded in the offseason or returns, expect him to put doubters to rest.
- Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Los Angeles Lakers)- 22 minutes, 11 points, 5/8 FG, 1/2 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a game-high 2 steals, a block, and a plus-minus of zero in a 122-109 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Rest of the Day’s Performances:
- Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Milwaukee Bucks)- Played last than a minute, grabbed 1 rebound, and had a plus-minus of ZERO.
- Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park/Chicago Bulls)- 24 minutes, 8 points, 4/8 FG, 0/3 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a block, a team-high 2 turnovers (tied with 3 others), and a game-worst -17 in a 135-130 overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
- Robert Covington (Proviso West/Los Angeles Clippers)- 22 minutes, 7 points, 2/2 FG, 1/1 3PT, 2/2 FT, an offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, an assist, a block, a team-worst -13 in a 135-130 overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls.
