Friday, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in various NBA games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 25.

Best of the Day: Robert Covington

  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Los Angeles Clippers)- 24 minutes, 8 points, 3/6 FG, 2/3 3PT, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a game-high 3 steals, a turnover, and -1 in a 122-97 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rest of the Day’s Performances:

  • Max Strus (Stagg/Miami Heat)- 30 minutes, 11 points, 4/9 FG, 3/8 3PT, a rebound, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, and -10 in a 111-103 loss to the New York Knicks.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Minnesota Timberwolves)- 25 minutes, 10 points, 3/6 FG, 1/2 3PT, 3/3 FT, a rebound, 2 assists, a game-high 1 steal (tied with 7 others), a turnover, and +6 in a 116-95 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Dallas Mavericks)- 30 minutes, 11 points, 4/12 FG, 1/6 3PT, 2/2 FT, an offensive rebound, 6 total rebounds, an assist, a game-high 1 steal (tied with 7 others), a turnover, and -4 in a 116-95 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
