Friday evening, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from April 23.

Off the top of my head, this is the first time in which all the players that played in a game on a particular night see their team win the game.

Best of the day: Isaiah Roby

  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 29 minutes, 18 points, 8/16 FG, 1/4 3PT, 1/1 FT, 3 offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, 2 assists, a team-high 2 steals, a block, 3 turnovers, and -3 in a 129-109 loss to the Wizards.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Jabari Parker (Simeon/Celtics)- 13 minutes, 2 points, 2 offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and +5 in a 109-104 loss to the Nets. His 8 rebound are a season-high and the most since he grabbed 8 boards on August 13, 2020 in a win over the Clippers.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 34 minutes, 21 points, 7/13 FG, 5/9 3PT, 2/2 FT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and -4 in a 118-103 loss to the Hawks

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 23 minutes, 0/4 FG, 0/3 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 3 assists, a game-high 3 blocks, and -17 in a 118-103 loss to the Hawks.
  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Trail Blazers)- 39 minutes, 7 points, 2/9 FG, 1/5 3PT, 2/2 FT, 3 offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, a block, 2 turnovers, and +2 in a 130-128 loss to the Grizzlies.
