Over the last handful of days, twelve former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in NBA Summer League games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA Summer League performances from August 6, 8, 9, and 10.

Friday, August 6

  • John Konchar (West Chicago/Grizzlies)- 27 minutes, 4 points, 1/6 FG, 1/2 3PT, 1/2 FT, a team-high 2 offensive rebounds, a game-high 11 rebounds, a team-high 5 assists (tied with others), a team high 2 steals (tied with others), a game-high 3 blocks, and +3 in an 82-77 win over the Spurs.
  • Ben Moore (Bolingbrook/Grizzlies)- 12 minutes, 2 points, 2/2 FT, 2 rebounds, an assist, and -4 in an 82-77 win over the Spurs.
  • Matt Mooney (Notre Dame Prep/Jazz White)- 19 minutes, 5 points, 2/3 FG, 1/2 3PT, 3 rebounds, an assist, a steal, 4 turnovers, and -3 in an 83-75 win over Jazz Blue.
  • Paul White (Whitney Young/Jazz White)- 16 minutes, 12 points, 5/9 FG, 2/4 3PT, 2 offensive rebounds, 5 total rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and +11 in an 83-75 win over Jazz Blue.

Sunday, August 8

  • Brodric Thomas (Bolingbrook/Cavaliers)- 23 minutes, 5 points, 1/10 FG, 0/5 3PT, 3/4 FT, a game-high 5 offensive rebounds, 9 total rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block, 2 turnovers, and a game-worst -16 in an 84-76 loss to the Rockets.
  • Admiral Schofield (Zion-Benton/Hawks)- 26 minutes, 0/3 FG, 0/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 7 total rebounds, 4 assists, a turnover, and -3 in an 85-83 loss to the Celtics.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Heat)- 28 minutes, 12 points, 5/14 FG, 3/9 3PT, an offensive rebound, 6 total rebound, 3 assist, a steal, 3 turnovers, and +6 in a 97-77 win over the Nuggets.
  • Vic Law (St. Rita/Lakers)- 24 minutes, 0/6 FG, 0/3 3PT, 3 offensive rebounds, 7 total rebounds, an assist, 2 turnovers, and +1 in a 73-72 win over the Suns.

Monday, August 9

  • Admiral Schofield (Zion-Benton/Hawks)- 11 minutes, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds, and -1 in an 84-83 win over the Pacers.
  • Keifer Sykes (Marshall/Pacers)- 20 minutes, 3 points, 1/3 FG, 1/3 3PT, and +22 in an 84-83 loss to the Hawks.

Jannero Pargo (Paul Robeson) is joining Rick Carlisle’s Indiana Pacer’s coaching staff.

Frank Kaminsky (Benet) is staying with the Phoenix Suns. Last season, Kaminsky played 47 games (13 starts) while averaging 6.6 points (career-low), 4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 15.2 minutes (career-low) per game.
