Wednesday evening, Gavin Sheets had his first multi-home run evening. Those two home runs give Chicago the extra push to get past the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 6-3 win. That is a pretty big achievement and made for a great moment for Sheets who had just been called up earlier that day. Except it was not the best moment of the night.
The best moment came during a break in the third inning. White Sox shared The Lacosse Family on the jumbotron to honor service members. After some time had passed, White Sox PA announcer Gene Honda welcomed U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Daniel LaCosse who surprised his family after being gone since November 2020 in Kuwait.
