As November wrapped up, Chicago Cubs were one of several teams adding ahead of the looming lockout. They acquired a few players which were highlight by Marcus Stroman and Clint Frazier. Frazier, 27, took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to share his excitement of joining the Cubs and even hit his former team with a soft jab.
He starts the tweet saying how excited he is and shares a couple of reasons why he decided to join the Cubs. At the end of the tweet, he writes, “I’ll be just as electric for you guys too. here’s to leaving my razor at home.”
Clint Frazier spent the last 5 season with the New York Yankees. The team is well known to have a handful of outdated practices which included the removal of facial hair and having long hair.
While he did drop the razor line in his tweet, Frazier does not have any issues with Yankee fans.
me being happy i’m on the cubs has nothing to do with yankees fans. it has to do with the fact that i’m happy to be able to play somewhere i’ll get a better chance at playing
Frazier’s deal with the Cubs is a one year deal for $1.5 million with a $1 million in potential incentives. When the Cubs open their next season, Frazier will be wearing number 77. Frazier has a .239 career batting average across 228 games. He has yet to play more than 69 games in a season and could get a shot at becoming a starter for the Cubbies.
It won’t be the first time Clint Frazier plays at Wrigley Field…
