The NBA playoff have begun and as mentioned in a previous piece, twelve former Illinois prep athletes are on a roster this NBA playoffs. Here’s the stat lines for the first two day. Expect more in the next post.

Saturday, April 16

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Dallas Mavericks)- 41 minutes, 24 points, 9/24 FG, 1/3 3PT, 5/6 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 7 total rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers, and -5 in a 99-93 loss to the Utah Jazz.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Minnesota Timberwolves)- 28 minutes, 10 points, 4/8 FG, 2/5 3PT, an offensive rebound, 6 total rebounds, 6 assists, a team-high 1 steal (tied with 3 others), a block, 2 turnovers, and +16 in a 130-117 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Toronto Raptors)- 36 minutes, 18 points, 7/12 FG, 4/7 3PT, a rebound, 6 assists, a team-high 1 steal 2 blocks, and +19 in a 131-111 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Golden State Warriors)- 13 minutes, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, a block, and +1 in a 123-107 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Sunday, April 17

  • Max Strus (Stagg/Miami Heat)- 25 minutes, 9 points, 3/8 FG, 1/5 3PT, 2/3 FT, 2 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, a game-high 1 block (tied with 4 others), and +8 in a 115-91 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Milwaukee Bucks)- 10 minutes, 3 points, 1/2 FG, 1/2 3PT, an offensive rebounds, 2 total rebounds, and a team-worst -7 in a 93-86 win over the Chicago Bulls.
  • Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park/Chicago Bulls)- 9 minutes, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 2 assists, and +1 in a 93-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
  • JaVale McGee (Hales Franciscan/Phoenix Suns)- 14 minutes, 7 points, 2/2 FG, 3/4 FT, a team-high 2 offensive rebounds (tied with DeAndre Ayton), 7 total rebounds, a block, turnover, and +4 in a 110-99 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
