Niles West grad Jewel Loyd has been named as a WNBA All-Star reserve for the upcoming game in Chicago. This will be the Seattle Storm guard’s fourth time on a WNBA All-Star team.
Loyd has played and started in all 18 of Seattle’s games this season. She is averaging 16.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. She’s currently shooting 39 percent from three which ties a career-high and her 16.6 points is the 11th best in the WNBA.
Loyd will not be the only local playing in the All-Star game as she will be joined by Naperville Central’s Candace Parker.
You can catch Jewell Loyd and Candace Parker at the 2022 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game when it tips off Sunday, July 10 at 12 p.m. CT at Wintrust Arena. For those that can’t make it, the game will be broadcasted on ABC.
