Twitter has become such a powerful tool to connect with people all across the world and especially those who seem unreachable like movie stars, CEOs, and athletes. Everyday people have used its powers to reach out to others in hopes of maybe one day meeting in real life. This week, Sandy Domingos-Shipley’s son, Ethan, got to meet his favorite player Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Marcus Stroman.

He was welcomed back with nothing but love from the fans and even more love from one specific young fan named Ethan who made the trip to his mom’s hometown from the UK. Prior to the game, Ethan’s mom reached out to Marcus using Twitter. sharing a sign that her son was creating. Stroman is an avid user so it is no surprise it crossed his notifications.

Stroman saw the tweet and said he was down to meet prior to Monday’s game.

Ethan was alerted by what was about to transpire and got super excited.

And to cap it all off, Stroman offered to provide Ethan and his family tickets to next year’s London Series between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.
