The NBA is back and so are my daily blogs. While the night was overtaken by the LeBron and Bronny James story, Illinois connections can be seen throughout the two games of the night.
October 22 Games
- Bostons Celtics Defeat New York Knicks, 132-109.
- Boston Celtics celebrate Banner Night 18 by making a record-tying 29 three pointers.
- Drew Peterson (Libertyville) is with Boston on a two-way contract.
- Jalen Brunson (Stevenson) scored 22 points on 9-for-14 (1-2 3PT, 3-3 FT) with a rebound, two assists, and four turnovers and -23 plus-minus.
- Los Angeles Lakers defeat Minnesota Timberwolves, 110-103.
- LeBron James and his son Bronny became the first father-son duo to play in a game in NBA History.
- Anthony Davis (Perspectives) looked like a MVP frontrunners. He scored a night-high 36 points on 11-for-23 shooting (1-3 3PT, 13-15 FT) with 16 rebounds (three offensive), four assists, a steal, three blocks, one turnover, and a +1 plus-minus in 38 minutes.
- Max Christie (Rolling Meadows) scored 2 points on 0-for-2 shooting (0-3 3PT, 2-2 FT) with 2 rebounds (one offensive), a -5 plus-minus in 11 minutes.
- Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) is a rookie for Minnesota this season but did not play Opening Night.

Highland Park native and current Detroit Lion tight end Sam LaPorta (Highland) mentioned his friend, two-time Mr. Illinois E.J. Liddell (Belleville West).
Liddell signed a Two-Way contract with the Chicago Bulls on October 19.
