NBA, G-League and several International leagues are off and running but some players are still grinding for minutes. Some of those guys have found themselves on the November 2024 Men’s AmeriCup Qualifying Team. On Wednesday, USA Basketball shared the twelve names that would be playing at the end of the month.
Of the twelve players, four played high school basketball in Illinois. Those four are Keita Bates-Diop (University), Robert Covington (Proviso West), Frank Kaminsky (Benet), and Chasson Randle (Rock Island).
Randle previously participated in USA Basketball’s Men’s Junior National Team program, both at minicamps and at FIBA junior competitions. He also participated in FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying windows in more recent years.
Bates-Diop, Covington, and Kaminsky will make their USA Basketball debuts.
Keita Bates-Diop and Robert Covington last played in the NBA last season while Frank Kaminsky last played in 2023 and Chasson Randle in 2021.
Fans can watch out for these guys when USA Basketball plays two games in Washington D.C. on November 22 versus Puerto Rico and the Bahamas on November 25.
