NBA is back!

The second half tipped off on Wednesday with a postponed game but a full slate of games took place on Thursday.

NBA Games

Indiana Pacer defeated Memphis Grizzlies, 127-113. John Konchar (West Chicago) did not play for Memphis. Jahlil Okafor (Whitney Young) did not play for Indiana.

Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Brooklyn Nets, 110-97. Max Strus (Stagg) had five points (2-10 FG, 1-8 3PT) with two rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and a -3 plus-minus in 24 minutes.

New York Knicks defeated Chicago Bulls, 113-111, in overtime. Matas Buzelis (Hinsdale Central) got the start in the loss while Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park) came off the bench for Chicago. Jevon Carter (Proviso East) and Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon) did not play. Buzelis had five points (2-8 FG, 1-6 3PT) with seven rebounds, an assist, a blcok, a turnover, and a -3 in 24 minutes. Dosunmu had five pots (2-8 FG, 1-5 3PT) with five rebounds, three assists, a steal, three turnovers, and a game-worst -16 plus-mins in 28 minutes. Jalen Brunson (Stevenson) got the start for the Knicks in the win. He had 22 points (8-21 FG, 2-9 3PT, 4-4 FT) with three rebounds, a game-high 12 assists, a steal, a block, two turnovers, and a +3 plus-minus in 38 minutes. His four made free throws were a game-high tied with Chicago’s Julian Phillips. His four free throw attempts were a team-high tied with Karl-Anthony Towns.

Los Angeles Lakers defeated Portland Trail Blazers, 110-102. Jordan Goodwin (Althoff Catholic) came off the bench in the win and had zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3PT) with five rebounds (one offensive), an assist, a turnover, and a team-worst -8 plus-minus.

G League Games

Maine Celtics defeated Indiana Mad Ants, 104-97. Drew Peterson (Libertyville) started for the Celtics had had eight points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-2 FT) with three rebounds, two assists, a turnover, and a -8 plus-minus in 15 minutes. RayJ Dennis (Oswego East) started for Mad Ants and had 16 points (6-17 FG, 4-8 3PT) with eight rebounds (one offensive), seven assists, three steals, five turnovers, and a -7 plus-minus in 41 minutes.

Sioux City Skyforce defeated Iowa Wolves, 108-104. Nojel Eastern (Evanston) had 12 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3PT, 3-3 FT) with eight rebounds (three offensive), four assists, a steal, two turnovers, and a +7 plus-minus in the loss.

Rio Grande Valley Vipers defeated Memphis Hustle, 134-110. DJ Steward (Whitney Young) and Charles Matthews (St. Rita) came off the bench in the loss. Hustle were without Malachi Smith (Belleville) as he was out with a strained oblique. Steward had 20 points (7-18 FG, 2-4 3PT) with two rebounds, an assist, two steals, two turnovers, and a -9 plus-minus in 26 minutes. Matthew had zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3PT) with a rebound, a turnover, and a -3 plus-minus in four minutes.
