Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) finished with his first career NBA double-double in Minnesota Timberwolves’ 131-128 overtime win against Oklahoma City.

Minnesota Timberwolves erased a 25-point deficit to force overtime against Oklahoma City Thunder. T’Wolves outscored Thunder 51-26 in the fourth quarter and overtime (41-19 in the court quarter). This win snapped a two-game skid but Minnesota.

Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) played in crucial minutes down the stretch in the win as Chris Finch has begun entrusting him and his play. Shannon even finished with his first doubled-double in the win.

He had a career-high 17 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3-3 FT) with a career-high 10 rebounds (three offensive), an assist, a steal, two blocks, a turnover, and a +12 plus-minus in 29 minutes off the bench. His two blocks were a game-high tied with Oklahoma City’s Alex Caruso. Shannon has played in nine straight games for Minnesota is shooting 48.1 percent on six attempts per game.

Denver Nuggets defeated Indiana Pacers, 125-116. RayJ Dennis (Oswego East) did not play due to a coach’s decision.

Chicago Bulls defeated Philadelphia 76ers, 142-110. Matas Buzelis (Hinsdale Central) got the start in the win while Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon) and Jevon Carter (Proviso East) came off the bench. Buzelis had 17 points (6-17 FG, 1-6 3PT, 4-4 FT) with three rebounds (one offensive), five assists, a block, and a +40 plus-minus in 36 minutes. Buzelis set career-highs in minutes (35:38), field goal attempts (17), and plus-minus (+40) while matching his career-high in assists with five. His plus-minus was the highest +/- in a game by a rookie in Chicago Bulls history.

Horton-Tucker had zero potions (0-3 FG, 0-2 3PT) with two rebounds, an assist, two turnovers, and a team-worst -14 plus-minus (tied with Jevon Carter) in seven minutes. Horton-Tucker has played in just two of his team’s last 10 games. Carter had eight points (2-4 FG, 2-4 3PT, 2-2 FT) with a team-worst -14 plus-minus (tied with Talen Horton-Tucker) in seven minutes. This is just the fifth time this season Carter has finished with eight or more points.

Washignton Wizards defeated Brooklyn Nets, 107-99. Richaun Holmes (Lockport) started for Washington in the win. He had 11 points (3-3 FG, 5-5 FT) with six rebounds (three offensive), four assists, a steal, three blocks, two turnovers, and a +7 plus-minus in 30 minutes. His five made free throws were a game-high tied with two others. His five free throw attempts were a team-high tied with Jordan Poole. His three offensive rebounds were a team-high as well. Lastly, his three blocks were a game-high tied with his teammate Kyshawn George. Holmes is averging 11.7 points on 77.8 percent shooting with 7.5 rebounds per game in his six starts.

G League Games

Indiana Mad Ants defeated Greensboro Swarm, 121-93. Jahlil Okafor (Whitney Young) got the start and had a double-double in the win. He had 26 points (12-14 FG, 1-1 FT) with 11 rebounds (two offensive), three assists, four turnovers, and a +25 plus-minus in 29 minutes. RayJ Dennis (Oswego East) did not play because he was not with the team and on a NBA assignment.

San Diego Clippers defeated Iowa Wolves, 123-116. Cam Christie (Rolling Meadows) started for San Diego in the win. He had 14 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3PT, 4-5 FT) with five rebounds (one offensive), four assists, a turnover, and a -1 plus-minus in 31 minutes.

Salt Lake City Stars defeated College Park Skyhawks, 119-96. Justin Harmon (Curie) had zero points (0-1 FG), a turnover, and a -2 plus-minus in two minutes off the bench in the win.
