Cleveland Cavaliers had their 16-game winning streak snapped after losing to the Orland Magic 108-103 on Sunday. Max Strus (Stagg) made his 25th start of the season. He had 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3PT, 1-2 FT) with six rebounds (one offensive), five assists, and a +2 plus-minus in 27 minutes. His five assists were a team-high tied with Donovan Mitchell. Strus is averaging 4.9 rebounds per 36 minutes which is a career-best.
Philadelphia 76ers defeated Dallas Mavericks, 130-125. Max Christie (Rolling Meadows) came off the bench for the straight games for the Mavs. He had 18 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3PT, 2-4 FT) with eight rebounds, three assists, a block, three turnovers, and a +1 plus-minus in 30 minutes. His four made 3-pointers were a team-high. His one block was a game-high tied with five others. Christie has five games with four made 3-pointers- four have came with Dallas.
Los Angeles Lakers defeated Phoenix Suns, 107-96. Jordan Goodwin (Althoff Catholic) made his second straight start for Los Angeles. This was the first time he made back-to-back starts since his final games of last season when he made a start for the Memphis Grizzlies on April 12 and 14. He had just two points (1-5 FG, 0-3 3PT) with three rebounds (two offensive), an assist, two blocks, and a -3 plus-minus in 28 minutes. His two offensive rebounds were a team-high with Jaxson Hayes. His two blocks were a game-high tied with Phoenix small forward Ryan Dunn. Goodwin’s minutes played on Sunday were the second most of the season for him.
Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Utah Jazz, 128-102. Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) made his 28th appearance of the season for Minnesota. He had four points (2-4 FG) with four rebounds, an assist, and a -5 plus-minus. His plus-minus was a team-worst tied with Bones Hyland. Shannon Jr. is averaging 7.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting as well as 50 percent from beyond the arc.
Los Angeles Clippers defeated Charlotte Hornets, 123-88. Cam Christie (Rolling Meadows) had zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3PT) with two assists, a steal, and a zero plus-minus in seven minutes off the bench for Los Angeles. This is his second straight appearance and his eighth of the season.
G League Games
Osceola Magic defeated Stockton Kings, 135-115. Xavier Pinson (Simeon) came off the bench for the Magic. He had zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3PT) with a turnover and a -3 plus-minus in four minutes. Chasson Randle (Rock Island) also came off the bench but for the Kings. He had 12 points (5-9 Fg, 2-5 3PT) with an offensive rebound, four assists, a steal, three turnovers, and a -30 plus-minus in 29 minutes.
Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated Iowa Wolves, 121-101. Nojel Eastern (Evanston) came off the bench for Iowa. Eastern had four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 FT) with three rebounds (two offensive), an assist, a steal, three turnovers, and a -14 plus-minus in 18 minutes.
Maine Celtics defeated Greensboro Swarm, 115-110. Drew Peterson (Libertyville) started for Maine and had 14 points (4-14 FG, 2-9 3PT, 3-3 FT) with seven rebounds (four offensive), six assists, a steal, three turnovers, and a -3 plus-minus in 34 minutes.
