March Madness is here. Let’s Dance!

These lists take a bit of time to compile and usually there is only enough time for one list to get out in time. This year is different and hopefully this becomes the norm.

For the first time ever at Icon Sports Blog, below is a complete list of women with ties to Illinois in this year’s NCAA tournament.

There are 39 players across 26 different teams playing in this year’s tournament with ties to Illinois. The list of teams includes those that are in the 32 regular bracket matchups as well as the play-in game teams.

When creating these lists in previous years, not only were they just done for the men but it also only included those that graduated from an Illinois high school. Due to the ever-changing hoops landscape, it was time to expand to include the women as well as broaden the criteria.

This list below includes any player that graduated from an Illinois high school, briefly attending an Illinois high school, and any Illinois native that opted to attend a school out of state.
