Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Chicago Bulls 135-113 and clinched the #1 seed in the Eastern conference. Max Strus (Stagg) started for the Cavs but went scoreless in the first half. Horton-Tucker had 17 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3PT, 3-3 FT) with two rebounds, three assists, a turnover, and a -9 plus-minus in 30 minutes. His 2.2 field goals per game is a career-low.
Memphis Grizzlies defeated Charlotte Hornets, 124-100. John Konchar (West Chicago) came off the bench for Memphis. He had an offensive rebound, an assist, two steals, and a -3 plus-minus in 11 minutes. Konchar is averaging a career-low 0.9 field goals per game.
Indiana Pacers defeated Washington Wizards, 104-98. RayJ Dennis (Oswego East) did not play in the Pacers win. Richaun Holmes (Lockport) did not play in the loss due to a right shoulder contusion.
Brooklyn Nets defeated New Orleans Pelicans, 119-114. Antonio Reeves (Simeon) started his fourth game in the last five games. He had 17 points (5-14 FG, 4-10 3PT, 3-3 FT) with three rebounds (one offensive), two assists, two steals, a turnover, and a +1 plus-minus in a team-high 30 minutes. His 17 points were a team-high with Karlo Matkovic. His field goal attempts and his 3-points attempts were both game-highs. His four made 3-pointers were a game-high tied with Brooklyn’s Dariq Whitehead. His two steals were a team-high tied with three others. Reeves is shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc on seven attempts per game.
Boston Celtics defeated New York Knicks, 119-117, in overtime. Drew Peterson (Libertyville) did not play in the Celtics win. Jalen Brunson (Stevenson) made his second straight start since returning from injury. He had 27 points (10-21 FG, 5-12 3PT, 2-2 FT) with a rebound, a game-high 10 assists, two turnovers, and a -2 plus-minus in 38 minutes. His 21 field goals were a team-high tied with Karl-Anthony Towns. His 3-pointers and 3-point attempts were both team-highs. Brunson is averaging 21 points on 43.3 percent shooting with eight assists per game since his return.
Milwaukee Bucks defeated Minnesota Timberwolves, 110-103. Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) did not play in the loss.
Golden State Warriors defeated Los Angeles Lakers, 136-120. Jordan Goodwin (Althoff Catholic) came off the bench in the loss. He had six points (2-6 FG, 2-4 3PT) with four rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and a -5 plus-minus in 13 minutes. This game snapped Goodwin’s streak of five straight games with an offensive rebounds. He has at least one offensive rebounds in 23 of his 26 appearances.
Los Angeles Clippers defeated San Antonio Spurs, 122-117. Cam Christie (Rolling Meadows) came off the Clippers bench for the fourth straight game- tied season high in games played in a row. He had a -7 plus-minus in about a minute played. His -7 plus-minus was a team-worst tied with four others.
G League Games
Osceola Magic take Game 1 of the G League Finals 129-118 over the Stockton Kings. Xavier Pinson (Simeon) had zero points and a -8 plus-minus in two minutes off the bench for the Magic. Chasson Randle (Rock Island) also came off the bench but for the Kings. He had 15 points (4-12 FG, 2-7 3PT, 2-2 FT) with four rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and a -4 plus-minus in 26 minutes.
