Jewell Loyd (Niles West) made her debut for the Las Vegas Aces, Kate Martin (Edwardsville) made her debut for the newly created Golden State, and Aneesah Morrow (Simeon) missed the season opener but did graduate college over the weekend.

Los Angeles Sparks defeated Golden State Valkyries, 84-67. Kate Martin (Edwardsville) was in the inaugural starting lineup for Golden State. She had two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2-2 FT) with an assist, a turnover, and a -9 plus-minus in 21 minutes.

New York Liberty defeated Las Vegas Aces, 92-78. Jewell Loyd (Niles West) made his debut for the Aces which she might want to forget. She had five points (2-10 FG, 1-6 3PT) with four rebounds (three offensive), two assists, a turnover, and a game-worst -19 plus-minus in 31 minutes. Here three offensive rebounds were a team-high tied with Kiah Stokes.

Washington Mystics defeated Connecticut Sun, 90-85. Sun’s Aneesah Morrow (Simeon) did not play in the loss due to a right knee injury.
