New York Knicks have relieved Tom Thibodeau as their head coach after five seasons.
This news shocked the social media world especially after seeing video just days prior of NBA superstar Jalen Brunson talking about Thibs.
He was asked about his now former coach being the right guy to lead them to the next level after their Game 6 loss.
He responded, “Is that a real question right now? You just asked me if I believe he is the right guy? Yes.”
Knicks social media team shared a “thank you” post for Thibodeau contributions to the organization.
The second photo included in the post was a statement by Knicks president Leon Rose.
Thibs went 226-174 in the regular season as the Knicks head coach. He was 24-23 but took them to Eastern Conference Finals appearances.
Knicks finished with back-to-back 50-win season for the first time since the 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 seasons.
This marks his second time departing from New York as he was an assistant coach from 1996-2003 before joining the Houston Rockets.
Once thing is for sure whatever is next for Tom Thibodeau, it will be basketball related. He’s been coaching in some capacity since 1981.
