Golden State Valkryies defeated Las Vegas Aces, 96-68, on Saturday.
Valkyries held a 49-28 at halftime after a 34-15 second quarter which included a 29-foot running pull up jump shot from Kate Martin (Edwardville) as the buzzer expired.
Martin came off the bench for the Valkyries and she continued to provide a spark wherever it was needed.
She had 12 points (5-11 FG, 2-7 3PT) with seven rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and a +30 plus-minus.
Jewell Loyd (Niles West) had a game-worst -23 plus-minus in a start for the Aces. She had five points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3PT, 3-5 FT) with six rebounds (three offensive), an assist, and two steals in 26 minutes.
Her offensive rebounds were a team-high while her total rebounds were also a team-high but tied with A’ja Wilson. Her two steals were a game-high tied with two others.
