The NBA Summer League came to an end on Sunday.
Charlotte Hornets (6-0) defeated the Sacramento Kings (5-1) 83-78 to remain undefeated as they won the Summer League Championship- their first ever notable accolade.
Five Hornets scored in double figures with their fourth overall pick, Kon Knueppel, leading the way with 21 points (8-21 FG, 4-11 3PT).
He also had five rebounds, two assists, four turnovers, and a +9 plus-minus in 33 minutes. He earned the Championship MVP for his performance.
In Illinois related news, Cam Christie (Rolling Meadows) and John Poulakidas (Neuqua Valley) could not deliver the Los Angeles Clippers a win. They suffered a 105-82 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Christie started and had 15 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3PT) with five rebounds, two assists, two steals, two steals, three turnovers, and a -21 plus-minus in 30 minutes. Poulakidas had zero points (0-7 FG, 0-3 3PT) with an assist, a block, turnover, and -10 plus-minus in 14 minutes off the bench.
