Los Angeles Clippers Cam Christie (Rolling Meadows) turned 20 years old on Thursday.

He has now spent a full year playing professional hoops and things are starting to pick up for the Arlington Heights native.

The 6-5 shooting was taken last summer in the second round of the NBA Draft with the 46th overall pick by the Clippers. He went on to spend most of his time in the G League with their affiliate, San Diego Clippers.

Between the tip-off tournament and the regular season, Christie played 40 games. He averaged 16.2 points on splits of .402/.302/.805 with 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, a steal, and 1.4 turnovers in 31.2 minutes per game.

The former Minnesota guard came into the new year hot with a career-high 38-point performance on January 1. He also had six rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block in the game. Christie also made five 3-pointers- not his career-high though.

He made six 3-pointers four separate times for San Diego.

He did sneak into some NBA games, 13 to be exact. He averaged just 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per game. In his debut on December 2024, Christie had five points, three rebounds, two steals in a career-high 17 minutes and 11 seconds on the court.

After that game, his NBA appearances were not as frequent. Christie did manage to play five straight games from April 2-9 right before the regular season ended.

He was with Los Angeles for their playoff before it was cut short. In their Game 7 loss to Denver, he had five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3PT) with a rebound and a +11 plus-minus in just under seven minutes.

This past month, he appeared in all five games Summer Leagues for Los Angeles and carried them to a 3-2 record. He averaged 16.2 points on 39 percent shooting with five rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.6 turnovers per game.

Year One is in the book and Year 2 is starting off strong after that Summer League run.

Cam Christie looks poised for bit step on the court for the Clippers. If he manages to find a bit more consistency shooting the ball, expect to see him in more NBA games next season.
