Chicago White Sox have been bad for a while now. They have second fewest wins in Major League Baseball and will likely miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

This past weekend did not bring much success on the field for them as the Cleveland Guardians took two of three games at Rate Field.

Despite the losses, a lot of fun and energy was shared and Summer memories were made.

Friday

White Sox get their only win of the weekend with a 6-3 victory.

Fans with special ticket to the ballgame received a voucher to pick up Derrick Rose bobblehead featuring the Simeon grad with a couple of basketballs and wearing one the White Sox city connect jersey with his iconic No. 1 front and center.

Also, llinois’ own and host of the show Hot Ones Sean Evans visited the park to throw out the first pitch.

Saturday

White Sox hosted Bill Veeck Bobblehead Night on Saturday.

The first 10,000 fan received of the famous owner and promoter.

On hand to throw out the game’s first pitch was his son, Mike Veeck.

To further honor Veeck, White Sox did some big time promotions.

They created a 50-foot Chicago Style Hot Dog that was on display and shared with fans before the game.

The shenanigans continued with a 1-minute pregame wedding on the field with 1983 Rookie of The Year Ron Kittle as the wedding official.

Earlier in the summer, White Sox reached out to fans to submit their story in hopes of getting them wed at Sox Park.

As absurd as it seemed to be, they made it happened.

Bill Veeck would be proud.

Sunday

Chicago honored longtime player, manager, and broadcaster Ozzie Guillen on Sunday afternoon.

The first 10,000 fans received a bobble of Guillen.

The bobblehead not only honors Guillen but the late Bobby Jenks as well. The then-manager used his hands to make a gesture to call for Jenks in Game 1 of the 2005 World Series.

Jenks went on to pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and a save to secure the Game 1 win. As some know, they went on to win the title that season.

The Sox have not seen that kind of a success since but one bright spot is rookie Colson Montgomery. He hit a 452 foot home run to ignite some life into the ballpark.
