Phoenix Mercury defeated Golden State Valkyries, 81-72.
Valkyries guard Kate Martin (Edwardsville) did not start but she sure got her teammates start by delivery top-notch handshakes with her teammates during lineups.
She came off the bench with her first appearance coming with 1:59 left in the third and her team down 62-49.
Martin had points seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 4PT) with four rebounds (one offensive), two assists, and a +4 plus-minus in minutes.
She scored all seven points in the final 62 seconds of the game.
