NBA and its regular season is officially coming to a close but the postseason fun is just beginning. It no longer is just the best eight times in the Eastern and Western Conference duking it out for their chance at a title. Instead, ten teams on each side have a chance and the 7th through 10th best teams have to partake in a play-in tournament to see which get the final two spots in the NBA playoffs. For more on the tournament, read ESPN’s piece.

Once the Play-In Tournament concludes the 2022 NBA Playoffs will begin Saturday, April 16.

The first set of game included just two former Illinois prep players. Patrick Beverly (Marshall) of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Robert Covington (Proviso West) of the Los Angeles Clippers. The two faced off in an epic showdown that went to the wire with the T’wolves taking the victory over the Clippers 109-104 and clinching a spot in the NBA playoffs.
