It’s been a very fun month for St. Louis Cardinals legend Albert Pujols and it does not show signs of stopping anytime soon. He hits two home runs over the weekend which did not not just tie Alex Rodriguez but pass him up for fourth on the all-time home run list
Saturday, September 10
Pujols ties the game with a two-run home run off the first pitch from Pittsburgh Pirates starter JT Brubaker in the sixth inning. This ties Alex Rodriguez for fourth place on the all-time home run list at 696. Cardinals go on to beat Pirates 7-5.
Sunday, September 11
Pujols hit a two-run home run (18) off Pirates closer Chase DeJong to take a 3-2 lead in the ninth. Cardinals go on to defeat Pirates 4-3. This leaps Pujols over AROD with his 697th career home run.

Albert Pujols has 21 Cardinals games to get 700 which seems to be more and more doable with each game he plays. This season, he’s hit 18 home runs and 7 of them have come against Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburg Pirate.
Lucky for Pujols because 10 of the final 21 Cardinals games are against those two teams.
