- Boston Celtics defeat Charlotte Hornets, 124-109.
- Five Celtics in double figures scoring.
- Jayson Tatum with a game-high 32 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double.
- Neemias Queta went a perfect 6-for-6 off the bench.
- LaMelo Ball finished with a team-high 31 points but had a game-worst -17 plus-minus.
- Tre Mann shot 10-for-18 from the field (3-6 3PT) for 23 points off the bench.
- Things got a little chippy when Hornets power forward Grant Williams shoved his former teammate (
Tatum).
- Five Celtics in double figures scoring.
- Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Orlando Magic, 120-109.
- Cavs are 6-0 and in first place in the East.
- Cleveland outscored Orlando 34-16 in the first quarter.
- Darius Garland had a team-high 25 points for Cleveland.
- Bringing in Donovan Mitchell from Utah has proven to be a huge move by Cleveland.
- Scored 22 points in the dub.
- Jarrett Allen led the team with 12 rebounds but scored just two points.
- Attempted just three shots.
- Jalen Suggs scored a game-high 28 points (10-18 FG) in the loss.
- He also had eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals, a block, and three turnovers.
- Suggs went 1-for-7 from beyond the arc.
- New York Knicks defeated Detroit Pistons, 128-98.
- New York outscored Detroit by 26 points in the first quarter (39-13).
- All Knicks starter in double figures scoring.
- Six total with Miles McBride.
- Jalen Brunson (Stevenson) scored a game-high 36 points (14-22 FG, 6-8 3PT, 2-4 FT) in the win.
- Brunson also had one rebound, five assists, two steals, two turnovers, and a +23 plus-minus.
- Cade Cunningham scored 22 points for the Pistons.
- Sacramento Kings defeated Atlanta Hawks, 123-115.
- Six Kings in double figures scoring with De’Aaron Fox leading the way with 31 points on 11-for-16 shooting (4-6 3PT).
- Keegan Murray (14 points-10 rebounds) and Domantas Sabonis. (15 points-14 rebounds) with double-doubles.
- DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points (9-16 FG) and had eight rebounds, two assists, a game-high three steals, a block, a turnover, and +10 plus-minus.
- Just five games in but DeRozan is shooting at career-high clips- 55.4 from the field and 37.5 from three.
- Sacramento missed just four free-throws (26-30 FT).
- Clint Capela (15 points-10 rebounds) and Trae Young (25 points-12 assists) with double-doubles for the Hawks.
- Six Kings in double figures scoring with De’Aaron Fox leading the way with 31 points on 11-for-16 shooting (4-6 3PT).
- Brooklyn Nets defeated Chicago Bulls, 120-112.
- Both teams now sit at 3-3 through their first six games.
- Cam Thomas scored a game-high 32 points in the Nets’ win.
- Five Nets in double figures scoring with three coming from the bench.
- Nikola Vucevic scored a team-high 27 points and finished with a double (11 rebounds- three of which were offensive boards).
- He shot 10-11 from the field including 3-for-4 from three point range.
- He also was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
- Vucevic also had three assist, a steal, a block, and a -7 plus-minus in the loss.
- Talen Horton Tucker (Simeon)- 7 minutes, 3 points, 1-2 FG, 1-2 3PT, an assist, and -1 plus-minus.
- Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park) scored 10 points (3-11 FG, 2-7 3PT, 2-2 FT) with seven rebounds, three assists, three turnovers, and -4 plus-minus in 27 minutes off the bench.
- Matas Buzelis (Hinsdale Central) and Jevon Carter (Proviso East) did not play (Coach’s decision).
- Los Angeles Lakers defeats Toronto Raptors, 131-125.
- After starting the season 3-0, Los Angles dropped the previous to games but got a much needed win on the road.
- Lakers went 36-for-41 from the free-throw line while Raptors went just 11-for-13.
- Both teams had four of their five starters score in double figures.
- It is so early but the way Anthony Davis (Perspectives) it looks like he will be a MVP favorite come next year.
- Davis scored a game-high 38 points (14-20 FG, 10-11 FT) with a game-high 11 rebounds (one offensive), two assists, a game-high three steals, a team-high two blocks (tied with his teammate Jaxson Hayes), and a +7 plus-minus in a game-high 36 minutes (tied with his teammate LeBron James).
- Speaking about James, he had a double-double with his 27 points and 10 assists. He also had six rebounds, a steal, ZERO turnovers, and a +11 plus-minus
- Gradey Dick with his second straight 30-point game.
- His 31 points is a new career-high in points.
- Shot 13-for-26 from the field and 5-for-11 from beyond the arc.
- RJ Barrett had a team-high 33 points and 12 assist to complete his double-double.
- Jakob Poetl also had a double-double (19 points-12 rebounds) in the loss.
- New Orleans Pelicans defeated Indiana Pacers, 125-118.
- Seven of the 10 Pacers that saw minutes scored 10 or more points.
- Ben Sheppard scored team-high 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-11 3PT) off the bench in the loss.
- Zion Williamson was the force factor in the Pelicans win.
- Williamson had a game-high 36 points (14-20 FG, 1-2 3PT, 5-8 FT) with six rebounds (one offensive), a team-high 10 assists, a game-high two steals (tied with his teammates Jose Alvarado and Brandon Boston Jr.), a team-worst three turnovers, and a game-best +17 plus-minus (tied with Brandon Ingram) in 37 minutes.
- Antonio Reeves (Simeon) did not play (coach’s decision).
- Minnesota Timberwolves defeats Denver Nuggets, 119-116.
- Anthony Edward scored a team-high 29 points and dropped seven three on his defenders.
- Rudy Gobert pushed and shoved Denver’s Christian Braun but wanted to keep it all basketball especially with Russell Westbrook approaching in on the action.
- Gobert finished with a double-double (17 points-14 rebounds).
- Nikola Jokic finished a rebound shy of a triple-double (26 points-9 rebounds-13 assists)
- Aaron Gordon had a game-high 31 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.
- He has seen his point total rise each game so far this season.
- Michael Porter Jr. matched Jokic with 26 points of his own.
- Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) did not play (coach’s decision).
- Oklahoma City Thunder defeats Portland Trail Blazers, 137-114.
- OKC emptied the bench in this 23-point win. All but Malevy Leons played double-digit minutes.
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his 30-point game push the Thunder to 5-0.
- Thunder are favorite in the West and SGA is a MVP favorite as well.
- Six players scored in double figures for Portland but their leading scorer was Jerami Grant with just 17 points.
