Aneesah Morrow (Simeon) had a nice homecoming trip to Chicago on Thursday.

The trip began with a stop at Simeon. Morrow had great success there as she even helped delivery a prestigious City and State Championship for the Wolverines. For her efforts for the program and court dominance, her number 24 jersey has been retired by Simeon High School.

After her graduating from Simeon, she stayed home and was a student-athlete for the DePaul Blue Demons under head coach Doug Bruno.

She played and started in 66 games for the Blue Demons and had an impressive 52 double-doubles in her two seasons in Chicago. She averaged 23.8 point on 46.3 percent shooting with 13 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Morrow decided to head south and play for another coaching great in Kim Mulkey at Louisiana State University.

She played in 37 games including 34 starts for LSU but saw her numbers decline from what she previously did at DePaul. She still managed to average a double-double in her new role for the Tigers.

This season, Morrow is taking another huge leap in the Tigers system and having a strong senior year campaign. She’s averaging 18.3 points on 52.4 percent shooting with 14 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. Her field goal percentage, three point percentage, rebounds average (45.5%), and steals average are all career-highs.

This past summer, it was announced LSU would play a road game in Chicago giving Morrow an opportunity to reconnect to her hometown.

And it was a family affair at the Credit Union 1 Arena with many of Morrow’s friends and family in attendance.

Morrow did not disappoint as she finished with her 12th double-double of the season (86th of her career) in LSU’s 91-73 win over UIC.

She had 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-3 3PT, 1-2 FT) with 13 rebounds (four offensive), three assists, four steals, two blocks and two turnovers in 38 minutes on the floor.
