Terrence Shannon Jr. (Lincoln Park) is averaging just 1.5 points in the NBA and has played minimal minutes in his 10 NBA appearances.
The rookie guard out of Illinois is coming off a tremendous run as an Illini but has yet to play significant minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
To get him some time on the court, Minnesota sent him to their G-League affiliate, Iowa Wolves, on Thursday.
He did what anyone would try to do in his spot and that is to show he belongs in the NBA.
Shannon Jr. shot 61 percent from the field on his way to a career-high 47 points in a loss to the Salt Lake City Stars.
He has now made three starts for the Iowa Wolves and has showed out each time. The Chicago native is averaging 37.7 points on shooting splits of .521/.471/.947 with 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and a steal per game for the Wolves.
