The NBA was overshadowed by their own distruction as well as the Daytona 500 and SNL 50 stealing eyeballs.
For Illinois, two players participated in their various Sunday games.
This first to hit the court was DJ Steward (Whitney Young) with Earn Your Leisure in their 36-32 loss to Team Braxton.
He had five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3PT) with three rebounds (two offensive), an assist, and a team-leading two steals in five minutes off the bench.
Despite the loss, Steward seemed to enjoy himself enough that he want to share the weekend with his followers by posting to Instagram. Looks like a YouTube recap could be on the way as well.
Wrapping up the weekend for the Illinois guys was Jalen Brunson (Stevenson) in his second event of the weekend. He was an All-Star Game starter for Team Kenny but they suffered a first game loss 41-32 to Team Chuck.
Brunson had three points (1-5 FG, 1-4 3PT) with three assists, a steal, and a -5 plus-minus in eight minutes on the court.
Also, I have a few personal words for the leaders of the NBA and ESPN. It should not be as difficult as it was to find box scores and events rundowns of various events. It should be at the top and front of their websites the day of the events and the following day. Do better!
