New Orleans defeated Charlotte Hornets, 98-94. After 36 starts for New Orleans, Antonio Reeves (Simeon) made his first career NBA start. He had 16 points (6-10 FG, 4-5 3PT) with three rebounds, two assists, two turnovers, and a -2 plus-minus. His four made 3-pointers were a game-high. This was Reeves’ fifth straight appearance. During this span, he shooting 66.7 percent from the field (20-30 FG) and 73.3 percent (11-15 3PT) from beyond arc. This was also his six game scoring in double figures and his 16 points on Sunday are his third most in a game this season.
Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Los Angeles Clippers, 127-122. They have now won a 60 games- first since 2008-09 season. Max Strus (Stagg) made returned to the starting lineup after being inactive against Detroit on Friday- also, his birthday. He had three points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3PT, 1-2 FT) with three rebounds (one offensive), six assists, three turnovers, and a plus-minus of zero in 24 minutes.This was the sixth game (in 45 games) this season in which Strus did not make a single 3-pointer. He nine of these across his 70 games last season.
Houston Rockets defeated Phoenix Suns, 148-109. Fred VanVleet (Auburn) made his 10th straight start since returning from his injury. He started and had 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3PT) with two rebounds, seven assists, two steals, a turnover, and a +23 plus-minus in a team-high 28 minutes on Sunday. His six 3-point attempts were a game-hgih with his teammates Aaron Holiday. His two steals were a game-high tied with three others. Since his return VanVleet is shooting just 38.3 percent from the field (120 attempts). During this 10 game span, Rockets are 9-1.
