Golden State Valkyries defeated Connecticut Sun, 87-63
Connecticut Sun rookie Aneesah Morrow (Simeon) made her first career WNBA start in the 97-63 loss to the Golden State Valkyries.
She had 14 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3PT, 5-7 FT) with four rebounds (three offensive), a turnover, and a -15 plus-minus in 16 minutes.
This is the rookie’s third straight game scoring in double figures.
Her three offensive rebounds were a team-high tied with Tina Charles.
Valkyries’ Kate Martin (Edwardsville) came of the bench in the win.
She struggled offensively scoring just one points (1-2 FT) and going 0-for-8 from the field (0-2 3PT). She also had four rebounds (three offensive), two assists, and a -5 plus-minus in 17 minutes.
Martin and the Valkyries remain at home and will look to extend their win streak to three games against the New York Liberty on Wednesday, June 25 at 9 PM.
Morrow and the Sun are hoping to end their game against the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday, June 25 at 9 PM at the Michelob ULTRA Center.
This will be the second game of four straight road games for Connecticut.
Las Vegas Aces defeated Indiana Fever, 89-81.
Jewell Loyd (Niles West) and the Las Vegas Aces snap a 3-game skid with an 89-81 win over the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
Loyd started and had 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-4 3PT) with five rebounds, five assists, a steal, a turnover, and a game-high +15 plus-minus in 34 minutes.
The Gold Mamba and the Aces are hoping to get a win streak going with another win in their Wednesday, June 25 home matchup against the Sun.
