Jeremiah Fears (Joliet West) was drafted with the seventh overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday night.
Saturday afternoon, Fears and the other 2024 Pelicans Draft Class were introduced to the press.
The former Oklahoma Sooner shared his excitement about his next NBA steps as they begin with the Pelicans organization.
“I’m excited to be down here,” Fears said to the press. “I got to meet some of my guys. It’s going to be super fun. We are going to bring a lot to New Orleans. It’s going to be a show.”
Fears and his new teammates will take the court together in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center for Summer League. Their first game is at 2:30 PM on Thursday, July 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

D ROSE Shares Text thread On Instagram
Derrick Rose (Simeon) shared a text thread on Instagram story on Saturday. The screenshot included a photo of him with a younger Jeremiah and Jeremy Fears Jr. from when the two were much younger.

The recently retired D-Rose mentioned he was watching closely on draft night and offered a few words of encouragement as Fears takes his first NBA steps.
