NBA Summer League begins next week on July 10.
Rosters are starting to shape up but that onvolves some teams needing to cut ties with players to make room for new ones.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that they waived guard Antonio Reeves (Simeon). Last season, he split time with the Pelicans and G League affiliate, Birmingham Squadron.
The Chicago native appeared in 44 regular season games which included six starts for the Pelicans last season. He averaged 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 15.0 minutes per game.
Reeves also appeared and started in 11 games last season for the Squadron. He averaged 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 38.5 minutes per game.
New Orleans took Reeves with their 47th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
He began his college career at Illinois State (two seasons) before spending his final three at the University of Kentucky. He averaged 15.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting .452 from the floor, .384 from three point range and .801 from the free throw line.
Lastly, Reeves averaged 15.4 points on 47.1 percent shooting over his final 10 games of the season. During that stretch he went 25-for-60 from beyond the arc.

The Indiana Fever defeated the Las Vegas Aces 81-54 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.
Jewell Loyd (Niles West) snapped her eight game streak of scoring in double figures. She scored just two points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-2 FT) in a team-high 30 minutes.
This is her sixth game this season scoring in single digits- she had just two such games last season.
The Gold Mamba also had four rebounds (three offensive), two assists, a turnover, and a -22 plus-minus. Her three offensive rebounds were a team-high.
