The Women’s National Basketball Association has become the talk of the summer in recent years.

One team that has garnered a lot of attention is the Indiana Fever.

Partially because of the addition of Iowa star guard Caitlin Clark back in April 2024.

She has been everything and more for Indiana but Year 2 has been a tough go not just for Clark but the Fever as whole. A big issue for the league has been injuries and Clark and her teammates are no strangers to them.

Clark’s teammate Sophie Cunningham has become known as an enforcer and providing protection for her teammates. Unfortunately, she could have used some for herself in late August in a game against the Connecticut Sun.

The collision caused her to tear her MCL in her right knee which ended up sidelining her for the rest of the season.

Obviously the season did not go as plan for Cunningham but she continued to show for her teammates. Those other Fever players which included the likes of Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston- just to name a couple.

They gave it their all and made it all the way to the Semifinals. Indiana would eventually fall 3-2 in a five game series to the Las Vegas Aces this past week.

Cunningham has enjoyed being the talk of the town whether its on social media, in the blogs or wherever she can land her name- even when she’s been away from the court. She even created a new opportunity for herself to be heard more with her Show Me Something podcast that she hosts with West Wilson.

While liked by many, she is not everyone’s favorite which has cost her some money. During the course of the season, Cunningham has been fined by the WNBA for her comments.

The 29-year-old mostly jokes them off- even if that also results in fines.

Thursday afternoon she decided to clap back.

She shared a post to Twitter/X which included a GoFundMe link. She did not say much other than it was a joke and that it could be used to pay for her fines, for charity, or even a yacht.

Her post quickly gained traction online even without much clarity from Cunningham.

Fans were wanting to know more while others already opened their pocket books. Within the first couple hours, it reached over $2,000.

Cunningham shared one final tweet for the day on the matter announcing that all the funds raised would go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Their mission is to provide comfort, care and support for families with children who are sick around the world.

UPDATE: She is now over $9,000 raised.
