Friday began the year 2021 and many hope it brings more good than bad after the year 2020. One thing for sure is that former Illinois prep athletes are making a name for themselves in the NBA. On Friday, ten former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from

Best of The Day: Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis came up big in a Lakers’ road win.

  • Anthony Davis (Perspectives/Lakers)- 35 minutes, 34 points, 13/26 FG, 4/6 3PT, 4/7 FT, 7 offensive rebounds, 11 total rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, a turnover, and +0 in a 109-103 win over the Spurs

  • John Konchar (West Chicago/Grizzlies)- 27 minutes, 7 minutes, 3/7 FG, 1/2 3PT, 2 offensive rebounds, 9 total rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, +2 in a 108-93 win over the Hornets.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Pistons)- 24 minutes, 17 points, 7/12 FG, 0/3 3PT, 3/4 FT, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, and +4 in a 96-93 win over the Celtics.

  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Trail Blazers)- 36 minutes, 8 points, 2/8 FG, 2/7 3PT, 2/2 FT, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a block, +29 in a 123-98 win over the Warriors.
  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 14 minutes, 5 points, 2/6 FG, 1/2 3PT, a rebound, a steal, two blocks, and +2 in a 109-103 win over the Spurs.
  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 13 minutes, 3 points, 1/5 FG, 1/3 3PT, 2 rebounds, a steal, and -7 in a 93-83 loss to the Mavericks.
  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Lakers)- 6 minutes, 0/2 FG, a turnover, and -4 in a 93-83 loss to the Mavericks.
  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 12 minutes, 2 points, 1/5 FG, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, a turnover, and -2 in a 93-83 win over the Heat.
