Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- January 5 Recap

Tuesday evening, just four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from January 5.

Best of the Day: Anthony Davis

Some strong should performances from Patrick Beverly and Robert Covington but the β€œBest of the Day” goes Anthony Davis. He was all over the place in the Los Angeles Lakers win and filled out every major stat category.

  • Anthony Davis (Perspectives/Lakers)- 34 minutes, 26 points, 10/20 FG, 4/10 3PT, 2/3 FT, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks, 4 turnovers, and +12 in a 94-92 win over the Grizzlies.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 33 minutes, 20 points, 7/10 FG, 6/9 3PT, an offensive rebound, 8 total rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks, a turnover, and +8 in a 116-113 loss to the Spurs.

  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Trail Blazers)- 37 minutes, 14 points, 5/10 FG, 4/9 3PT, an offensive rebound, 6 total rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block, and +6 in a 111-108 loss to the Bulls.

  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 22 minutes, 4 minutes, 2/5 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and -22 in a 94-92 win over the Grizzlies.
