Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- January 20 Recap

Wednesday evening, twelve former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from January 20.

Best of the Day: Kendrick Nunn

Kendrick Nunn has had a nice couple of days. Last night, he dropped 28 points with 8 rebounds and 5 assists off the bench.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 35 minutes, 28 points, 9/12 FG, 4/6 3PT, 6/6 FT, an offensive rebound, 8 total rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, 5 turnovers, and +11 in a 111-102 win over the Raptors.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 22 minutes, 13 points, 5/6 FG, 3/4 3PT, an offensive rebound, 3 total rebounds, assists, a steal, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, and +2 in a 111-102 win over the Raptors.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Heat)- 11 minutes, 3 points, 1/4 FG, 1/3 3PT, 2 rebounds, and +5 in a 111-102 win over the Raptors.

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 37 minutes, 24 points, 7/18 FG, 3/8 3PT, 7/8 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 5 total rebounds, 9 assists, a steal, 2 turnovers, and -4 in a 111-102 loss to the Heat.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Pistons)- 29 minutes, 14 points, 7/15 FG, 0/1 3PT, a rebound, an assist, a steal, a block, a turnover, and -14 in a 123-115 loss to the Hawks.

  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 12 minutes, 4 points, 2/6 FG, 0/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, an assist, a block, and +11 in a 109-103 win over the Rockets.
