Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- January 22 Recap

Friday evening, twelve former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from January 22.

From 1 player all the way up to 12 players , and then back to 1, and now up to 12 players.

Best of the Day: Richaun Holmes

I gave the โ€œBest of the Dayโ€ to Richaun Holmes. I was fascinated by stat line. It might not be the best of the players or even on his Kings team but he always goes out and find a way to contribute. One of these days he will have a triple-double with the help of blocks.

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 37 minutes, 10 points, 5/8 FG, 3 offensive rebounds, 14 total rebounds, 6 blocks, and +14 in a 103-94 win over the Knicks.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 31 minutes, 16 points, 6/11 FG, 3/5 3PT, 1/1 FT, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, a turnover, and +12 in a 122-107 win over the Spurs.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 21 minutes, 5 points, 2/6 FG, 1/4 3PT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, an assist, 5 steals, and -13 in a 101-81 loss to the Raptors.
  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 39 minutes, 22 points, 8/16 FG, 2/8 3PT, 4/6 FT, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 turnovers, and -27 in a 101-81 loss to the Raptors.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Heat)- 15 minutes, 2 points, 1/5 FG, 0/4 3PT, a rebound, an assist, a turnover, and -11 in a 101-81 loss to the Raptors.

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 38 minutes, 13 points, 4/14 FG, 1/6 3PT, 4/5 FT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 2 turnovers, and +21 in a 101-81 win over the Heat.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Pistons)- 20 minutes, 9 points, 3/11 FG, 1/2 3PT, 2/2 FT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, 3 assists, a turnover, and -11 in 103-102 loss to the Rockets.
  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 28 minutes, 8 points, 4/6 FG, 0/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and +3 in a 120-106 loss to the Clippers.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 30 minutes, 1 point, 0/2 FG, 0/2 3PT, 1/1 FT, an offensive rebound, 8 total rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and +23 in a 120-106 win over the Thunder.
  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 16 minutes, 8 points, 3/5 FG, 2/4 3PT, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and -8 in a 130-126 OT loss to the Nuggets.
  • Andre Nader (Niles North/Suns)- 19 minutes, 9 points, 4/7 FG, 1/2 3PT, 3 rebounds, a steal, a turnover, and -5 in a 130-126 OT loss to the Nuggets.
  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Suns)- 7 minutes, 1/3 FG, 1/3 3PT, and -5 in a 130-126 OT loss to the Nuggets.
