Friday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from January 29

Best Of The Day: Fred VanVleet

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 36 minutes, 26 points, 7/16 FG, 3/7 3PT, 9/10 FG, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, a turnover, and +9 in a 126-124 loss to the Kings.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 26 minutes, 5 points, 1/4 FG, 3/4 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 5 total rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks, 4 turnovers, and +3 in a 126-124 win over the Raptors.
  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 26 minutes, 13 points, 4/7 FG, 2/4 3PT, 3/4 FT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and -11 in a 120-101 loss to the Jazz.

  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 12 minutes, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, and -23 in a 147-125 loss to the Nets.

  • Keita Bates-Diop (University/Spurs)- 1 minute and -2 in a 119-109 win over the Nuggets.
