Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 7 Recap

Sunday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 7.

For the first time this season, all of the players that played also saw their teams win.

Best of the Day: Frank Kaminsky

  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 19 minutes, 9 points, 4/6 FG, 1/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 9 total rebounds, 2 assists, and +9 in a 100-91 win over the Celtics.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Suns)- 3 minutes, a rebound, an assist, and +0 in a 100-91 win over the Celtics.
  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 31 minutes, 12 points, 6/10 FG, 2 offensive rebounds, 10 total rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers, and +13 in a 113-110 win over the Clippers.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 31 minutes, 16 points, 6/11 FG, 4/7 3PT, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, and +2 in a 109-103 win over the Knicks.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 21 minutes, 4 points, 2/5 FG, 0/3 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and -1 in a 109-103 win over the Knicks.

Extra News

Derrick Rose is being traded to the New York Knicks. He’ll be reunited with head coach Tom Thibodeau who coach him in Chicago and Minnesota.
