Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 15 Recap

Monday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 15.

Best of the Day: Derrick Rose

The New York Knicks are 3-1 since Derrick Rose joined the team.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Knicks)- 24 minutes, 8 points, 3/9 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2/2 FT, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, and +8 in a 123-112 win over the Hawks.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • JaVale McGee (Franciscan/Cavaliers)- 17 minutes, 7 points, 3/5 FG, 1/2 FT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, a turnover, and -4 in a 129-98 loss to the Warriors.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 21 minutes, 6 points, 2/6 FG, 0/4 3PT, 2/2 FT, 2 rebounds, an assist, a turnover, and -17 in a 125-118 loss to the Clippers.
  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 21 minutes, 2 points, 1/2 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, a block, and -10 in a 125-118 loss to the Clippers.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Heat)- 9 minutes, 3 points, 1/4 FG, 1/4 3PT, and -3 in a 125-118 loss to the Clippers. They are calling him โ€œMr. Fourth Quarterโ€ now.
