Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 18 Recap

Thursday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 18.

Best of the Day: Fred VanVleet

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 40 minutes, 17 points, 5/15 FG, 3/8 3PT, 4/4 FT, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal, a block, 2 turnovers, and +11 in a 110-96 win over the Bucks.

Fred said: MVP, who?!!

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 31 minutes, 16 points, 6/14 FG, 4/8 3PT, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a turnover, and +10 in a 118-110 win over the Kings.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 23 minutes, 4 points, 2/5 FG, 0/3 3PT, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and +11 in a 118-110 win over the Kings.

  • Alfonzo McKinnie (Marshall/Lakers)- 4 minutes, 3 points, 1/1 FG, 1/1 3PT, 4 rebounds, and +7 in a 109-98 loss to the Nets.
  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 28 minutes, 9 points, 3/9 FG, 0/3 3PT, 3/3 FT, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, a block, a turnover, and -14 in a 109-98 loss to the Nets.
