Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 21 Recap

Sunday evening, seven former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 21.

Best of the Day: Fred VanVleet

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 38 minutes, 23 points, 7/15 FG, 5/10 3PT, 4/5 FT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, 9 assists, a steal, a block, and -3 in a 110-103 win over the 76ers.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 28 minutes, 5 points, 2/6 FG, 1/4 3PT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, 4 assists, 4 turnovers, and +0 in a 112-108 loss to the Nets.
  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Knicks)- 19 minutes, 4 points, 1/8 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2/2 FT, a rebound, 2 assists, a steal, a turnover, and -12 in a 103-99 win over the Timberwolves.
  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 19 minutes, 8 points, 4/6 FG, 0/1 3PT, an offensive rebound, 3 total rebounds, an assist, 4 steals, and +18 in a 117-101 win over the Cavaliers.

  • JaVale McGee (Franciscan/Cavaliers)- 6 minutes, 4 points, 2/3 FG, 2 rebounds, a turnover, and -14 in a 117-101 loss to the Thunder.
  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 21 minutes, 11 points, 5/7 FG, 1/2 FT, 4 offensive rebounds, 11 total rebounds, 2 assists, a turnover, and -14 in a 128-115 loss to the Bucks.

  • Jabari Parker (Simeon/Kings)- 16 minutes, 6 points, 3/5 FG, 3 rebounds, an assist, 2 turnovers, and -15 in a 128-115 loss to the Bucks.
