Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 24 Recap

Thursday evening, nine former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 24.

Best of the Day: Andre Iguodala

Lanphier’s Andre Iguodala gets the edge for his performance. He’s definitely toward the end of his career but Iguodala can still shoot and defend when called upon.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 24 minutes, 12 points, 4/5 FG, 4/5 3PT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, an assist, a block, a turnovers and +7 in a 116-108 win over the Raptors.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • JaVale McGee (Franciscan/Cavaliers)- 11 minutes, 4 points, 2/4 FG, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, an assist, a steal, 3 blocks, 3 turnovers, and -1 in a 112-96 win over the Rockets.
  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 39 minutes, 24 points, 6/13 FG, 5/11 3PT, 7/8 FT, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, a turnover, and -7 in a 116-108 loss to the Heat.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 36 minutes, 7 points, 2/9 FG, 1/4 3PT, 2/3 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, 7 assists, a block, 2 turnovers, and +13 in a 116-108 win over the Raptors.

  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 12 minutes, 6 points, 2/5 FG, 1/2 3PT, 1/2 FT, 3 rebounds, an assist, and +1 in a 124-121 loss to the Hornets.

  • Keita Bates-Diop (University/Spurs)- 20 minutes, a season-high 9 points, 3/5 FG, 1/2 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and -1 in a 102-99 loss to the Thunder.

  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 17 minutes, 5 points, 2/5 FG, 1/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, a block, 3 turnovers, in a 102-99 win over the Spurs.
  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 30 minutes, 8 points, 3/12 FG, 2/5 3PT, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 turnovers, and -15 in a 114-89 loss to the Jazz. This was his first start of the season.

  • Alfonzo McKinnie (Marshall/Lakers)- 7 minutes, 2 points, 1/3 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 rebounds, and -3 in a 114-89 loss to the Jazz.
