Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 26 Recap

Friday evening, eleven former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 26.

Best of the Day: Richaun Holmes

Lockportโ€™s Richaun Holmes locked in another double-double after scoring 19 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in a Kingโ€™s win. His 17 rebounds were one short of tying his career-high. Maybe Shaq will finally learn who he is. He better.

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 33 minutes, 19 points, 6/8 FG, 7/7 FT, 6 offensive rebounds, 17 total rebounds, an assist, 2 blocks, a turnover, and +19 in a 110-107 win over the Pistons.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 38 minutes, 25 points, 6/23 FG, 5/11 3PT, 8/8 FT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 turnovers, and +4 in a 122-111 win over the Rockets.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 29 minutes, 12 points, 5/9 FG, 2/4 3PT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, an assist, 2 turnovers, and +4 in a 124-116 win over the Jazz.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 23 minutes, 8 points, 2/5 FG, 2/5 3PT, 2/2 FT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, 2 assists a steal, 2 turnovers, and +1 in a 124-116 win over the Jazz.
  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Trail Blazers)- 40 minutes, 4 points, 1/8 FG, 0/5 3PT, 2/2 FT, 10 rebounds, a steal, 2 turnovers, and -6 in a 102-93 loss to the Lakers.
  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 16 minutes, 4 points, 2/5 FG, 0/1 3PT, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and +7 in a 102-93 win over the Trail Blazers.
  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 14 minutes, 15 points, 7/13 FG, 1/4 3PT, 2 rebounds, an assist, 2 assists, a block, a turnover, and +2 in a 106-97 win over the Bulls. Still very efficient.

  • Abdel Nader (Niles North/Suns)- 17 minutes, 4 points, 2/3 FG, 2 rebounds, and -1 in a 106-97 win over the Bulls.

  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Suns)- 1 minute and -2 in a 106-97 win over the Bulls.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 21 minutes, 11 points, 4/8 FG, 3/7 3PT, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks, a turnover, and +7 in a 119-99 win over the Grizzlies.
  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 32 minutes, 7 points, 3/7 FG, 1/3 3PT, 0/1 FT, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a turnover, and +6 in a 118-99 win over the Hawks.
