Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- March 11 Recap

Thursday evening, nine former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 11.

Best of the Day: Richaun Holmes

Lockport’s Richaun Holmes is picking up right where he left off by continuing to finish games with double-doubles. Thursday, Holmes had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the Sacramento Kings’ wins.

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 35 minutes, 20 points, 9/11 FG, 2/2 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 11 total rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and +20 in a 125-105 win over the Rockets. His 11 rebound were tied with Harrison Barnes for game-highs.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 20 minutes, 9 points, 4/5 FG, 1/1 3PT, 2 offensive rebounds, 6 total rebounds could a turnover, and +4 in a 116-108 win over the Mavericks.

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 36 minutes, 26 points, 9/15 FG, 2/4 3PT, 6/10 FT, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, a turnover, and -1 in a 116-108 loss to the Thunder.

  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 29 minutes, 13 points, 6/12 FG, 1/4 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a turnover, and +11 in a 111-103 win over the Magic.

  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 23 minutes, 3 points, 1/2 FG, 1/2 3PT, 5 rebounds, and +1 in a 111-103 win over the Magic.
  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 11 minutes, 2 points, 1/2 FG, 0/1 3PT, an assist, a steal, and -5 in a 127-121 win over the Trail Blazers.
  • Abdel Nader (Niles North/Suns)- 20 minutes, 5 points, 2/3 FG, 1/2 3PT, 0/1 FT, 5 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, a block, and +8 in a 127-101 win over the Trail Blazer. His 2 steals were a game-high.

  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Trail Blazers)- 34 minutes, 13 points, 5/11 FG, 3/6 3PT, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block, and +8 in a 127-121 loss to the Suns.

  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 11 minutes, 3 points, 1/4 FG, 1/3 3PT, a block, and -1 in a 130-104 win over the Warriors.
