Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- March 24 Recap

Wednesday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 24.

Best of the Day: Jalen Brunson

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 30 minutes, 16 points, 7/12 FG, 0/2 3PT, 2/3 FT, 3 offensive rebounds, a team-high 11 total rebounds, a team-high 5 assists, 2 turnovers, and a team-high +17 (tied with Tim Hardaway, Jr.) in a 128-108 win over the Timberwolves.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 30 minutes, 16 points, 7/12 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2/2 FT, a team-high 4 offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, an assist, a steal, a team-high 2 blocks, and +5 in a 110-108 win over the Hawks.

  • Isaiah Roby (Dixon/Thunder)- 29 minutes, 9 points, 3/11 FG, 0/1 3PT, 3/4 FT, an offensive rebound, 6 total rebounds, 3 assists, a team-high 3 steals (tied with Luguentz Dort), a block, and -14 in a 116-107 loss to the Grizzlies.

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 30 minute, 19 points, 5/12 FG, 5/9 3PT, 4/4 FT, 2 assists, and +6 in a 135-111 win over the Nuggets.

  • Brodric Thomas (Bolingbrook/Cavaliers)- 11 minutes, 5 points, 2/5 FG, 1/2 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and +7 in a 103-94 win over the Bulls.
