Sunday evening, three former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 28.

Best of the Day: Robert Covington

  • Robert Covington (Proviso West)- 36 minutes, 13 points, 4/11 FG, 3/11 3PT, 2/2 FT, a team-high 3 offensive rebounds, a game-high 12 total rebounds, 2 assists, a game-high 3 steals, a game-high 4 blocks, and +3 in a 122-117 win over the Raptors.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Raptors)- 38 minutes, 20 points, 7/19 FG, 2/10 3PT, 4/5 FT, an offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, a team-high 8 assists, a steal, a turnover, and +5 in a 122-117 loss to the Trail Blazers.

  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Lakers)- 18 minutes, 4 points, 1/3 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2/2 FT, 2 rebounds, an assist, 2 turnovers, and +4 in a 96-93 win over the Magic.
