Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- April 5 Recap

Monday evening, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from April 5.

Best of the Day: Jalen Brunson

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 30 minutes, 20 points, 8/15 FG, 4/7 3PT, 0/2 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, 3 assists compared and +8 in a 111-103 win over the Jazz.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Knicks)- 25 minutes, 16 points, 6/14 FG, 2/4 3PT, 2/3 FT, a rebound, 3 assists, a steal, and -8 in a 114-112 loss to the Nets.

  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings- 35 minutes, 11 points, 5/10 FG, 0/1 3PT, 1/2 FT, a team-high 3 offensive rebounds (tied with Harrison Barnes), 6 total rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, a team-high 3 blocks, and -1 in a 116-106 loss to the Timberwolves.
  • Brodric Thomas (Bolingbrook/Cavaliers)- 5 minutes, 2 points, 1/2 FG, 0/1 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 2 turnovers, and -8 in a 125-101 win over the Spurs.
  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Suns)- 12 minutes, 3 points, 1/4 FG, 1/3 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, and -12 in a 133-130 win over the Rockets.
